The movie's innovations begin in its first shots, which abandon the familiar stalking silhouettes in the iris lens, and hit the ground running. Bond and another agent are in Istanbul, chasing a man who has stolen a crucial hard drive, and after a chase through city streets (involving no less than three Fruit Cart Scenes), 007 is running on top of a train. We know from earlier films that Bond can operate almost anything, but "Skyfall" incredibly has him commandeer of a giant Caterpillar and continue the chase by crushing a flatcar filled with VW Beetles.
Bond comes full circle during the finale. As he holds a dying M in his arms, at the same place his parents are buried, he is saying goodbye to the woman who has watched his back and taken care of him during his most desperate times. By stripping Bond of all the gadgets and his surrogate mother in M, giving him a new team of allies who will assist him in the future while forcing him to say goodbye to the woman who made him what he is, Skyfall sets a new origin point for the Bond franchise.

For the casual Bond fan, Skyfall is an outstanding action movie with a few plot holes. For the hard-core 007 addicts amongst us, it succeeds on many other levels, borrowing the best elements from some of my favorite older movies while eliminating most of the fluff and camp. 2ff7e9595c
