Critics might say that the "S" versions of all iPhones are only incremental improvements over the previous devices. The thing is, we prefer to think of that "S" as "Saved from ignominy." Two of the devices on our top five worst iPhones were saved by the "S" version. In this case, the iPhone 6 Plus' tendency to bend when put in your jeans pocket was saved by the iPhone 6S Plus. Apple didn't redo the design with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. It didn't need to; the sleek lines spoke volumes already. Almost everything they changed was under that satin aluminum exterior.

When I went to a press screening of the movie shortly before it was released, in a theater in Times Square, the audience burst into applause after every musical number. It was magical. What was more surprising than the suppleness of its musical numbers was the frankness and honesty that it treated subjects of race and American history. Disney has had problems in the past with race in its animated features, from questionable sections of Fantasia (later removed) to the crows in Dumbo (banned from any merchandise) to pretty much all of its animation/live-action hybrid Song of the South (locked away in the Disney vault). This felt like a huge course correction, not overtly politically correct, but sensitive and truthful. Clements and Musker are some of the best filmmakers working today, in animation or otherwise, and their light touch and assured direction makes all the difference. While the box office was softer than was expected (it made $267 million worldwide compared with the $1 billion earned by Frozen), Tiana has taken her place among the Disney Princesses (she's got more grit and determination than most of them) and one day The Princess and the Frog will be looked upon a stone-cold Disney animated classic.

"No Sudden Move" tackles themes like race, corruption, and the intersection of organized crime and the American auto industry during the Motor City's post-war boom. Critics liked it, but audiences were less thrilled. This neo-noir takes cues from genre classics in the worst way: It's intensely talky, and not at all visual. The pace is also excruciatingly slow, as the director utterly abandons the punchy editing style of his best films. The result is a Soderbergh crime drama with none of his usual sizzle, and another entry in what is starting to feel like a late-career slump.
Out of all of Kratos' adventures so far, God of War Ragnarök is hands-down the best. From the way it evolves the gameplay from God of War (2018) to the growth of both Kratos and Atreus as characters, everything that worked in the franchises' previous installment has been doubled-down on here. The environments are prettier, the animations are more fluid, and combat has never felt better.
